Identity Verification Consent

Consent to process your identity documents and any liveness video for verification.

Version 1.0Effective 7 September 2026

1. What you are consenting to

To verify your identity we ask you to upload a government-issued identity document and, in some cases, a short liveness video or selfie. Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 this is sensitive personal data, and we process it on the basis of your explicit consent together with our obligations to prevent fraud and money laundering.

2. What we do with it

Confirm the document is genuine and that it belongs to you.

Check the name and date of birth against your Bridge account.

Screen for duplicate accounts and for fraud and sanctions risk.

Retain the record as evidence that verification was performed.

3. Who sees it

Access is restricted to Bridge staff performing verification and to our infrastructure providers acting on our instructions. Sponsors never see your identity documents. We disclose them to a regulator or law enforcement only where legally required.

4. Retention

Verification records are retained while your account is open and for five years after it closes, to meet anti-money-laundering record-keeping obligations, and are then deleted. Document images may be deleted earlier once verification is complete, leaving only the verification result.

5. Your declaration and rights

You confirm the documents are genuine, unaltered, and relate to you. Submitting forged or altered documents is a criminal offence and will result in permanent removal and referral to the authorities where appropriate.

You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting support. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, and it may mean you can no longer receive payouts or use features that require verification. Where we must keep records by law, deletion may be refused on that basis.
